If Los Angeles is known for two things, it’s Hollywood Movies and cannabis culture. The Hollyweed Tour was born at the intersection of both. Founded by Chris Leschinger, an industry veteran who built one of Hollywood’s top sightseeing companies, The Hollyweed Tour is LA’s original cannabis sightseeing experience, blending history, legalization, and culture into a one-of-a-kind journey through the heart of Hollywood and West Hollywood.
Cannabis has shaped LA’s creative culture in ways most people don’t realize. We wanted to build a tour that wasn’t just about sightseeing—it’s about storytelling, history, and experiencing a side of LA you can’t get anywhere else.
From the Bay to the Boulevard: How It All Started
Chris’s journey started in San Francisco, where he worked as a tour guide, eventually moving to LA to start his own sightseeing company. In March 2020, he launched Hollywood Bus Tours, but just 17 days later, the pandemic shut everything down. Forced to pivot, Chris found himself working in the cannabis industry, trucking bulk cannabis across California for Korova, one of the biggest names in the space.
During that time, he saw an opportunity—a cannabis-focused tour that celebrates the culture, the history, and the industry that helped shape California. He first shared the idea with friends but had too much on his plate to make it happen. Fast forward to 2023, and a meeting (plus a smoke sesh) with the founders of The Woods WeHo turned that long-held vision into reality.
And so, The Hollyweed Tour was born.
